It is one thing to play music in one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet. It’s another thing entirely to do so for a crowd as committed to partying as this one! Jack & Jasmine could not have been a more gracious couple leading up to the big day, and their humble nature was a scarce indicator of the unhinged soiree we would encounter on the Big Island of Hawaii. The dance floor was packed from the first song of the night through the last, with the exception of a short intermission for a customary Hawaiian fire-dancing show. There were dance circles, crowd-surfers, and air-guitars galore. The most rewarding part of performing in a cover band is that visceral connection we form with a music-loving crowd. All told, Crowd Theory’s adventure to Hawaii was one of our most rewarding musical experiences to date! The slow-motion video below features one of Jack & Jasmine’s song requests—”I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness.
A Concert-Style Wedding at a Historic Hollywood Venue
Seth and Laura’s wedding at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood, CA was one for the books! Crowd Theory—our party rock cover band—played three sets of music to a packed dance floor. It was hard not to think about the many musical legends who had graced that stage before us—acts like the Rolling Stones, Jackson 5, Louis Armstrong, Duran Duran, and more. Suffice it to say we didn’t feel like a wedding band that night—we felt like a rock band playing to our adoring fans.
Seth and Laura were a wonderful couple to work with. Their taste in music included so many of the timeless 90s and 2000s alternative rock artists we grew up listening to. The energy in their wedding crowd was infectious, especially during Crowd Theory’s cover of “Closing Time” by Semisonic—Seth & Laura’s request for last song of the night. Crowd Theory was proud to bring Seth and Laura’s wedding vision to life in such a historic Hollywood venue!

Santa Rosa Weddings - The Straytones Pack Another Dance Floor!
When it comes to cover bands, there are few quite like The Straytones, with its unique blend of genres and on-stage charisma. The acoustic instrumentation of the band shouldn’t fool people into thinking that this band doesn’t know how to get a dance floor moving.
Arthur and Lindsey’s wedding in Santa Rosa was well worth the drive for the band—the guests were ready to party; the scenery was gorgeous; and Arthur and Lindsey were such a fun and easy-going couple. Here are some pictures of the action on the dance floor that night! The band had a great view of the dancers from the stage:
We always have a blast leading the Hora with Hava Nagila!
Who doesn’t love a great first dance? We always love it when our couples’ first dance song request is a favorite of ours to play!
Impromptu karaoke with the band and the wedding guests? Yes, please!
Lindsey and Arthur, thank you for inviting The Straytones to be a part of your beautiful wedding in Santa Rosa, California! What a dance party!

A Seaside Wedding in La Jolla, California Featuring Cover Band Crowd Theory
When I say Ben & Ashli know how to throw a party, I mean they REALLY know how to throw a party. Our cover bands have played live music for weddings in the San Diego and La Jolla areas many times, and Ben & Ashli’s wedding is one we will never forget. The view from the stage was impeccable to boot! Thank you to Ben & Ashli and all of your guests for being such a fun and energetic crowd, and thank you for inviting our cover band to be a part of your big day. Much love to the newly weds from all of us at Crowd Theory Entertainment!
Wedding Music in Wine Country - The Straytones Play in Napa Valley, California
Verdant rolling hills, grapes on the vine, wine flowing liberally, friends and family dancing late into the night—these are just some of the key ingredients for a dream wedding in Napa Valley. Our cover bands have played for countless weddings in the Napa and Sonoma area, and there really is no better place in California to host such a memorable celebration. Hannah and Soaman’s wedding this April was not only picturesque, but it was exactly what The Straytones (our acoustic dance band) hopes for: singing crowds and an endless dance party!
Congrats Hannah & Soaman! The Straytones had a blast playing music for you and your wedding guests!

A Houston, Texas Wedding Featuring The Straytones
The Straytones had played for a wedding in Texas once before, in the tiny town of Marathon. When we were contacted by groom-to-be Jivar to play for his wedding in Houston, we were thrilled to return to the lone star state! The Straytones are the perfect cover band for Texas weddings, with the band’s unique blend of popular music with folk and country instrumentation. The dance floor at Jivar & Jessica’s wedding speaks to The Straytones’ awesome energy!
Jivar and Jessica—it was a pleasure to travel from California to Texas to play music for your beautiful celebration!
A Beautiful Santa Barbara Wedding By The Ocean
Our cover bands love to perform for weddings in neighboring Santa Barbara. Who can complain about live music by the ocean? Megan and Shaun hosted their wedding at this beautiful Santa Barbara wedding, and The Straytones were honored to be their cover band of choice! Congratulations Megan and Shaun, and thank you again for invited us to play music for you and your guests!
